Updating

Yesterday, I met Cathy Borland in Sugarland campus to discuss this project. We brought all the materials that may be used in the powerpoint presentation. Some sources have very complex concept maps to introduce the management of asthma. We decided to use these maps to show the class how difficult a concept map could be, which is considered as the disadvantage of a concept mapping. We will make our own concept mapping to discuss the asthma. We also went through every detail about the presentation. Here are some examples of concept mapping:

  1. Wow! Just looking at those made my eyes cross! It is true, some can get carried away with concept mapping. I believe they look better is they are color coded or shape coded to determine the differnet steps etc.

  2. Xin,
I enjoyed previewing your concept mapping tools in the above section of your blog. I remember doing those in nursing school using Inspiration.com (a software that lets you trial concept maps for a month at a time). I got carried away as Joellan said it with all the different loops and turns a concept map can make. I look forward to your presentation!

  4. Catherine and Xin,
Your presenation was great! I remember having to create and hand draw our own concept/mind mapping when I went to nursing school; now we have software that makes the process very easy. Technology has truly transformed the world we live in today. I used one of your resources to try out a free trial on creating a PBL diagram. You may visit my blog to see it as one of my postings. Thanks!

  5. You guys did a fantanstic job on your presentation. I always thought that these maps were difficult to read. Now I realize this is due to the fact that most people overdue these and thery can be quite simple. Thanks for the presentation. I loved the website where you can make your own!
